WHAT IS IT?

A Dairy Herd Health Programme for seasonal calving dairy herds.

Most Dairy Herd Health Programmes have been written by computer programmers who have no knowledge of dairy cows or their management. This programme has been written locally in Western Victoria by veterinarians David Beggs & Mike Hamblin.

Dairy Data has been designed to produce a comprehensive, computerised dairy herd health programme that:

  1. allows for rapid, simple data entry.
  2. produces simple, concise and meaningful reports to the farmer
  3. allows indepth analysis for the farmer's vet / advisor.
  4. allows once only data recording.
  5. records all relevant farm information
  6. can be used to investigate infertility, mastitis etc.

Dairy Data allows for transfer of herd recording data from all major herd test co-operatives by disk or modem and allows on screen display of all herd test and cell counting data for each cow.

Calves are entered at the time of birth to create a permanent animal record with pedigree.

REPORTS AVAILABLE

 

Reports are menu driven and can be previewed on screen:

o Wallchart. o Production and cell count records.
o Management reports inc. expected calving lists. o Stock inventory.
o Expected heat dates. o Culling Programme.
o Induction listings. o Weight reports.
o Pregtest lists - cow and yearling list. o Vet check list - cows in need of a Vet.

Annual farm analysis of performance is available from farmer's vet or by Warrnambool Animal Production Services and allows calculation of all relevant indices, disease and production records to produce an annual report.

Dairy Data can be run as a bureau service with data being entered commercially by Warrnambool Animal Production Services, your own veterinarian or possibly your herd testing centre. Reports can be run at your request and faxed, Snail-Mailed, or E-Mailed to you.

Several leading Veterinary Clinics have an advanced version of Dairy Data that can analyse reproductive performance, mastitis control, and can produce Ferility Focus Reports.
