Dr. Michael Hamblin B.V.Sc.(Hons)

Mike was raised on an irrigated dairy farm at Waaia in Northern Victoria. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1975 and commenced work in Warrnambool late that year. In 1978 he purchased the business and established The Warrnambool Veterinary Clinic. He is married to Jill, who works in the Clinic, and they have twin daughters.

Mike was the 1998 Warrnambool "Business Achiever of the Year".

Mike now spends most of his time in dairy advisory work and consulting and is the co-author of "Dairy Data" and "Farm Cash" computer software packages for dairyfarmers. He runs his own farm at Grassmere where he contract grows dairy heifers and is also a partner in a dairy farm at Ballangeich.

 

Dr. Mark Lewis B.V.Sc.

ml.JPG (9260 bytes)Mark moved from England with his family as a young boy to Ararat where his father was a  surgeon. Mark studied Veterinary science at The University of Melbourne graduating in 1981   and commencing his career at The Warrnambool Veterinary Clinic. He became a partner in  1986. Mark's special interests include small animal medicine & surgery, and Accupuncture. 

Mark is the only IVAS (International Veterinary Accupuncture Society) accredited veterinarian in the south west.

Mark is married with two children.  He is also a partner with Mike and others in a dairy farm.

Dr. David Beggs B.V.Sc. M.V.S.

David grew up near Glenthompson, where his parents continue to produce fine merino wool, and graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1990. He commenced his professional life in Smithton, Tasmania before joining the Warrnambool Veterinary Clinic and becoming a partner in 1994.

David has completed a postgraduate Master of Veterinary Studies degree in Dairy Medicine & Management. His special interests include dairy medicine and surgery and computer programming. He has written several computer software packages
including "Dairy Data", a herd management programme for seasonal calving dairy herds, "Farm Cash", a cashbook programme for dairy farmers, and "Blackwood Paddock Book", a stocklist programme for sheep and beef farmers.

He lives in Warrnambool with is wife and 2 daughters.


Dr. Charlie Blackwood B.V.Sc., M.R.C.V.S. M.A.C.V.Sc

Charlie was born and bred in Young, N.S.W. and graduated from The University of Sydney in 1984. He worked in South West Victoria for two years before spending two years exploring the World working with a range of animal species. He worked in New Zealand, United Arab Emirates (on racing camels) and the United Kingdom.

Charlie is a member of the nutrition chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientests.

On his return to Australia Charlie was a partner in Terang for six years before joining The Warrnambool Veterinary Clinic and becoming a partner in July 1995. Charlie is based in Port Fairy and manages our branch practice there tending both small and large animals. His interests are horses, particularly performance horses, dairy cow nutrition, reproduction and mastitis and small animal medicine and surgery. He resides in Rosebrook with his wife, 2 dons and a daughter and is very active in the Port fairy community.

Michael graduated with honours from The University of Melbourne in 1986 and has worked in several practices in Victoria and the U.K. He moved from Timboon in 1996 and became a partner the following year.  Michael has completed a post graduate master of Veterinary studies degree in dairy medicine & production.

His professional interests include dairy medicine and surgery, equine stud and stable work. Michael is married and has a daughter and two sons.
